Showing support for the Patriot Guard Riders

Holder Entertainment and Making Miles and Smiles hosted a car and motorcycle show at Campbell Jr. High Saturday afternoon to assist their cause. The Patriot Guard Riders are a volunteer, federally registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that protects memorial services honoring fallen military heroes, first responders and honorably discharged veterans.

“It’s a day to honor the military people and the people who stand for the Patriot Guard,” explained Donald Holder Jr. of Holder Entertainment. “Me and my wife, Tiffany Holder, wanted to raise money for the Patriot Guard Riders because they do so much and don’t ask for a handout or a pat on the back.”

The event included vintage and custom vehicles lined up across the school parking lot. Guests shopped from the various vendors, ate meals grilled by the George Rogers Clark High Football Booster Club, and partook in the silent auction for the chance to win various toolsets and a two-night stay at one of the Cumberland River Campground cabins.

For a $20 donation, attendees were entered into the auction without limit. Twenty percent of the GRC Football Booster Club earnings went to the Patriot Guard Riders, with the other 80 percent helping the GRC football team.

Holder said this was the first car show event his company put together to assist the Patriot Guard Riders, and he and his wife hope to continue the event annually.
