Driver killed in crash identified

Clark County Coroner Robert Gayheart has identified the man who was killed in a collision on Interstate 64 near the Montgomery County line on Nov. 23. The man was Donald James Blevins, 20, of Olive Hill.

According to his obituary, the West Virginia native was the son of Donald Ray Blevins and Amy Marie McDavid Justice, both of Grayson.

When The Winchester Sun went to press on Monday, the victim had not yet been identified because the coroner had not yet been able to notify his family.

The accident happened around the 104-mile marker on I-64 when James lost control of the car he was driving, skidded, crossed the median from the westbound to the eastbound lanes and collided with a garbage truck.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck was transported by ambulance to Clark Regional Medical Center for treatment.
