Chip-making company may invest in Clark County

A chip-making company may be bringing a $10 million investment and 40 jobs to Clark County.

Winchester-Clark County Industrial Development Authority Director Todd Denham told the Clark County Fiscal Court on Thursday that Wilde Brands is interested in a building under construction on Tierney Way.

The company, which is based in Denver, Colorado, is looking for a new manufacturing location.

According to the company’s website, they make chips made from chicken rather than potatoes. They presently offer six flavors including buffalo-style, chicken and waffles, and sea salt and vinegar.

Wilde Brands, Denham said, wants to lease the building with the option to purchase.

The company is seeking state tax credits, along with local credits for the payroll tax, and wanted a letter of support from the Fiscal Court. The court approved the letter unanimously.

Denham said the average wage would be $20 an hour plus benefits.

The company is still looking at other locations as well, he said.
